2024  Durty Dabbers Dual Sport and Adventure bike ride update

Happy New Year from all the Durty Dabbers!

The club is doing great  and we ended the year with a lot of enthusiasm for the upcoming year. We decided to have two Mototrials events this  year, one in June and one in  September  plus our National Dual Sport  and Adventure bike ride on June 1 & 2, 2024

All paperwork and sanction requests have been sent in and approved by the AMA so far.

Once again our registration will be done online due to the fact that we are limited to 550 riders by DCNR. A date and time when the registration opens will be announced shortly and posted well in advance.

Accommodations will be made for some of the older riders that may not be as quick on the computer. Please reach out if you need assistance signing up by emailing dualsport@durtydabbers.com.

We have a good relationship with our district DCNR foresters this year which is always a great thing!

Sproul State Forest, which we use on Sunday, has a new recreational Forrester and  we are looking forward to working with her on our routing for Sunday, so far she seems very receptive. Last year our relationship with DCNR’s enforcement rangers was very strained to say the least. We were  very upset with them for unnecessary roadside stops. Their biggest complaint was unregistered motorcycles instead of the overall safety that threatened the future of the event. After several meetings and letters to Harrisburg we ended up negotiating a deal that we can work with. Basically we agreed to inspect the motorcycles for only two things #1 a license plate properly mounted on the back of the motorcycle and #2 a headlight affixed to the front of the motorcycle, if we agreed to these 2 items they assured us that there would be  no roadside safety checkpoints. If everybody could come with registered and insured motorcycles it would make my life much easier.

On the lighter side we’ve been talking with some new landowners hoping to get some more single track especially on Saturday morning, things are looking promising. We’re all excited about the 2024 events.  I will try to post an update each month prior to the event so check back on our website
