Save the Date!!! May 30 & 31, 2020.

Dual Sport, Durty Dabbers Comments Off on Save the Date!!! May 30 & 31, 2020.

Message from the President of Durty Dabbers

Breaking news! The Durty Dabbers Great Adventure Dual Sport and Adventure Ride is on for 2020.  The dates are the same, first weekend after Memorial Day, which is May 30 and 31st this year. It seems like this is a long way off, but planning has already started mainly because the DCNR requires our paperwork to be completed 90 days before the event. This year, the Dual Sport will follow a very similar format with some changes to the routing, which should be fun. The Adventure Ride will have extensive changes due to its added popularity and  we are getting more familiar with the capabilities of the motorcycles and riders in this class. Please continue to check the website. The flyer and registration form should be posted relatively soon.

Tips for riding the Durty Dabber Dual Sport

Dual Sport, Durty Dabbers Comments Off on Tips for riding the Durty Dabber Dual Sport

Tire Pressure:  New to this year’s dual sport is a Tire Pressure Station.  It is strongly recommended to have 15 to 17 PSI in your tires. You don’t want to have a flat and have your friends make fun of you.

Our guys are happy to help in the event a flat does occur, but the correct tire pressure will most likely avoid this from happening.  We also suggest that you bring extra tubes in case this does occur.

Pre-registering:

Pre-register, pre-register, pre-register.  We can’t say it enough.  This saves you time waiting in line and more importantly saves you money and gets you free items.  If you pre-register by May 20, 2019, you will get the ride at a discounted price, a free BBQ meal on Saturday night and a free t-shirt.  This also guarantees you a spot.  When you pre-register, you DO NOT receive a confirmation.  AMA does not have the capability to do this at the time.  If you have a concern, please email registration questions to dualsport@durtydabbers.com.

AMA Cards:

AMA membership is required to ride the event.  You will be asked for your card. For those not pre-registered, your card will be scanned to obtain the information necessary for sign up.  This saves a tremendous amount of time and assures that the information is accurate.  If you do not have an AMA card, or have a damaged card, there is still time to get a new one, don’t wait.  If you come to the event and do not have a membership, you will be required to get one.  One day events are available, only the day of the event, for $20.00.

Friday night food:

The Castanea Fire Company will be selling food Friday evening.  The club will also have a Rider Reception with snacks and drinks provided by the Laurel Run Church.

Stickers:

Stickers will be given to you at registration.  One is will go on the right side of your bike and the other on the right side of your helmet.  These numbers are important as we are given permission to ride on state land for this weekend only.  The sticker represents to DCNR that you are riding the Durty Dabber event.

Starting Time:

It is important to start at the times listed. Please leave within a half an hour of the start time. Do not leave early.  Lead riders must leave before you do.  Gates and cables are opened by the lead riders.  Chase riders are there for your support, leaving within the time range allows the chase riders to be last.

Roll Chart Holders:

Roll chart are provided by the club. Roll chart holders will be available for purchase.  It is best to ride with a group with at least one person having a roll chart holder.

Gas Stops:

There will be gas stations available during the Saturday ride.  Sunday, the club will transport gas for you.  The will be a spot by the pavilion to place your gas cans.  Please put your name on the gas can for identification purposes.  Your roll chart has the information regarding gas stops.
