Dual Sport and Adventure Ride Update
For 2010 the Durty Dabbers are once again sanctioned for a 2 day national dual sport, our 20th year! To celebrate our 20th year we are planning to change things up a bit and will plan for something special to celebrate.
We are once again sanctioned in the BMW Adventure Bike Series, our 3rd year for this type event. It appears that the interest and participation has been increasing each year since its inception.
The basic layout should remain quite similar with Saturdays ride taking the riders south through Bald Eagle State Forest and Sundays ride going to the north and west through Sproul State Forest. Sundays course will change considerably due to some land closures and also new land that has been made available to us.
As always we are open to any special suggestions/recommendations that you would like to share and we will gladly consider them prior to the final marking of the course.
One of the suggestions already being considered for Sunday would be an alternate course around the water crossing for the larger bikes or less adventurous riders.
I will provide a monthly update and more frequent updates as the event gets closer.
Thanks again everyone for helping to make our event the success year after year that it is.
Nils Mantzoros
President Durty Dabbers
** NOTE: Williamson Honda/Suzuki had been sold to Bill Garbrick (a long time Durty Dabber member).
The new name for the shop is G Brick Motorsports. The phone number remains the same at 570-726-3343. If you call, ask for Clyde in Parts, he is the best person to answer your questions or go to our website at www.durtydabbers.com and the secretary of the club will assist you.

May 20, 2009 Dual Sport Update
Sunday’s course has changed considerably for the adventure bike class making it a little bit easier, but a little bit longer and more scenic. The main course is very similar to last year including the infamous water crossing. The alternates for Sunday are new and exciting.
So far the pre-sign ups have been strong and the numbers are very similar to last year at this point. If you haven’t already, please pre-enter.
The t-shirt design this year came out really nice…a little bit different than the past. (more trendy)
I’ll have another update next week with any final details.
Dual Sport Update May 27, 2009
We are ready! Hope you are! We just had our final meeting with a huge turnout of over 60 Durty Dabber members all excited about putting on a fun dual sport for the 500 of you riders that we expect. (the weather still looks great for the weekend) This evening we rolled over 1,200 roll charts for both days and organized six rescue trucks for each day. We also finalized plans for the trials demonstration, meals each day and all the other activities planned for the weekend.Pre-entries have gone extremely well. We have over 50 more than last year at this time. The BMW adventure bike signup started out slow, but has been picking up speed this past week so we hope to have a good size group of them.
Final directions to Lock Haven:
Take Interstate 80 to the Lock Haven exit. Then follow the orange Moose arrows to the Castanea Fire Company Picnic Grounds of which adjoins the Piper Airport (the address is One Piper Way, Lock Haven, PA 17745)
See you in a few days!!
