DUAL SPORT UPDATE/PROGRESS FOR APRIL
Several weeks ago we met with DCNR for a major meeting to discuss areas of improvement from our event last year and suggestions of areas we can improve for our event this year. DCNR had several areas of concern, some of which involved motorcycles that were not licensed and were not officially registered to ride our event (tag along riders) and high speed riding on some of the forestry roads. A better system to communicate and identify our safety and support vehicles was suggested and we have made some improvements in the area. We are open to suggestions of the above issues and ask for you to e-mail us if you can offer any input.
There were some issues with the trails we used last year due to the large amount of rain we got the night before the event so this year we will be reviewing some different alternates to help alleviate that problem.
Our next meeting with DCNR will be at the end of April and at that time we will confirm our routing details. This year we are going to try to get a little bit more creative with the adventure bike course and try to come up with easier single track due to the increasing popularity of this class.
The Castanea and Chapman Township Fire Companies and Laurel Run Church are onboard and ready to provide the good food and camping again this year.
As always recommended, the more people that can pre-enter is very much appreciated as it helps us with the planning process, especially for the meals.
